Business software should be calm: reliable when you depend on it, understandable when you need to change it — and smart where intelligence genuinely helps, with AI woven in, not bolted on.
What we build
CalmDevLabs is an AI-driven software development studio based in India. We build:
- AI solutions — chatbots, document Q&A, LLM integrations, and workflow automation grounded in your data.
- Android applications — native apps for customers, field teams, and internal use.
- Web applications — business platforms, dashboards, and portals.
- ERP systems — modular business software, starting with an HR portal for employee operations.
- Backend systems and APIs — the infrastructure that connects everything together.
We also take on IT services work: integrations, database design, and the maintenance and modernization of software you already own.
Engineering philosophy
Five principles guide every project:
- Solve the real problem. We start from your business need, not from a technology looking for an excuse. If a spreadsheet is the right answer, we will say so.
- Use AI where it earns its keep. We reach for language models and automation where they genuinely remove work — grounded in your data, tested against your reality, and never as a gimmick.
- Choose boring technology. Proven tools, well-understood patterns, and dependencies we can justify. Excitement belongs in the product, not in the stack.
- Build for the next maintainer. Clear code, real documentation, and a handover you can actually use — whether that maintainer is us or your in-house team.
- Stay honest about trade-offs. Every shortcut has a cost. We name it, price it, and let you decide with open eyes.
How we work with clients
We work in short, visible cycles. You see working software early and often, and every engagement starts with a written plan — scope, architecture, timeline, and cost — before a line of production code is written. Read the full process.
We are a young, founder-led studio. That means you work directly with the people building your software — no account-manager telephone game, no handoffs into the void.
What we will not claim
You will not find invented founding dates, team bios, client logos, testimonials, awards, or funding announcements on this site. As the studio grows, this page will grow with it — with facts, not fiction.
Our commitment: 5% for children's education
Building Technology. Empowering Futures. We believe technology should create opportunities beyond business. CalmDevLabs is committed to dedicating 5% of its annual profits — not revenue — to initiatives that empower children through education, learning resources, and greater access to opportunity.
We are a for-profit studio, not a registered charity, and we are young: no contributions have been made yet. This is a commitment we are building toward. When the first contribution happens, we will publish verified details on our homepage impact section — consistent with our actual accounts, never embellished.
It is a small part of who we are, stated plainly: we build software for businesses, and we set aside a fixed share of our profits so children get better chances to learn.
